Does this product perform both functions meaning charging the battery when needed and also as a jump starter.
In answer to your question about performing battery charging, and jump starting the answer is yes to both. I personally have used both functions with this charger. I inadvertently closed my seatbelt in driver’s door which completely drained the battery. I used this charger for approximately two hours to recharge my battery which it did. After the charge I had no other problem starting, or operating the vehicle’s devices. I have also jump started vehicles with this charger. It performed both functions. It also has a compressor to air up your tires.
Are the cables always HOT?
Yes. There is no shutoff switch. However, since the cables are always wrapped up that has not been a problem.
Can the battery start a fire while unattended? Like lithium batteries sometimes do?
