Can this unit be laded on it’s side?
This unit has a completely sealed AGM internal battery, so it can be laid on it side without a problem.
I have a PSJ-4424. When I press the % button it flashes two numbers at me. One is 75% and the other is 100%. Does this mean one of the two batteries is going bad?
The display will combine the charge from 2 internal batteries, so in this case, one battery is lower than the other. It is possible that is because the 2nd battery is not holding a charge. We would recommend having the battery bench tested and replaced, if found to be problematic.
I own the PSJ-4424. My question is can a power inverter be plugged into it? If so, what is the largest wattage that it could handle?
You can plug an inverter up to 200 watts into this unit.
Why does the PSJ-4424 keep beeping? It mention nothing about this in the manual that I have seen
There is an alarm that will sound when the clamps are connected to a battery in reverse. Also, when the unit is plugged in to charge, ensure the on/off switch is fully in the off position.
Does the internal charger have a trickle mode, or must it be unplugged immediately after charging?
Yes, it has a built in 3amp automatic charger that goes into float mode when the two 22Ah professional grade high output AGM batteries are fully charged. So it is okay to leave it perpetually plugged in if you so desire, or you can unplug it after it is fully charged and top it up periodically. It does hold a 100% charge for extended periods of time though. I have the PSJ-3612 that I carry around in the back of my SUV all the time. I keep it plugged into a 110w power inverter that is plugged into a 12v outlet in the cargo area of the truck. Whenever the vehicle is driving the unit gets topped up, so I can never run into any unexpected power failure on the road.
