Is there a Automatic Float Charging System?
I don't have this one, but I do have the last version, and after taking mine apart, here is what I can say. While there are lights on the front that tell you when the battery is full, I have found not proof or evidence of any float in it to keep it from over charging. My opinion, while it should not hurt much to leave it is for a short period of time after it is fully charged, I would keep somewhat in mind to make sure that it is not left charging for extended lengths of time. Doing so can damage the battery in it. If you do damage the battery in it, replacement batteries can be bought and installed for around half the price of one of these.
Can this unit be plugged in to 110 power, in the charge mode, 24-7 with out doing damage by over charging it?
The instructions say “You cannot overcharge this unit using the AC charging method.” However, elsewhere in the manual it says “overcharging will reduce battery life.” But if you charge it DC you should not exceed 6 hours of charging time.
How long will it retain its charge when not used and still work?
They claim 30 days. You should charge it once every 30 days . I’ve had mine since Oct 22 and it’s still at full charge. It’s very well built and seems like a very good jump pack.I would recommend this one.
Hi guys, could you please tell me what cable are you using to charge the unit when at home? Reviews say there is no cable with the unit.
All you need is a standard three-prong, grounded extension cord to charge the unit. It should be charged indoors, and it has no special requirements. It has a plug built into the charger that’s covered with a rubber cap.
